I create and perform electornic music and sound art solo and with different ensembles. Surprising and living in the moment is my main source of inspiration, so performances are often improvised. I like spaces where you can position yourself in an interesting way and spread the performers across the room. Whenever possible, I build a multi-channel sound system. Sound works can be commissioned as live performances or as a soundtrack for an event or exhibition. I strive to create holistic experiences, so I enjoy working with artists from different disciplines. I produce artistically and technically Aava sound and Suhina Collective performances.
Aavakaiku and Suhina Collective create improvised sound art with electronic and acoustic instruments. The compositions combine expressive, surprising and atmospheric elements, playing with different sounds and tunes. The performances are experiential and unique, often created in the moment, with no predetermined direction. The ensemble has often performed at venues such as the Music Hall of the House of Culture, Sara Hildén Art Museum. Suhina Kollektiivi has also performed in the lobby of the Metso Main Library in Tampere and on the cliffs of the Rauhaniemi Folk Spa on the Night of Events.
The Prophet and The Moogs is a solo project of music and sound art performed on analogue synthesizers. I create synthetic soundscapes incorporating bass, rhythms, harmony and noise, leading a machine orchestra with several Moog synthesizers and one Prophet. A variety of effects pedals and tape reverb enliven the epic and ethereal sounds.
